Volunteer Description:
The partner organization is a non-profit registered in Dhamar city-Yemen in 2005, involving in community services and human care activities for needy people in Dhamar and whole Yemen.
2. a) In related to ESL program, we are in urgent need of Native-speaker teachers of English ( we welcome professional ones from non native - speakers) to operate an ESL summer program starting from June till August 2008. It is designed for both Children and adults who have beginning standard. important to note that you are welcome to assign the curriculum and lessons taught. also, the program will be held in Dhamar city. we will mainly provide those teachers with housing , food and internal transportation. Teachers will only afford to pay for their Air tickets to Yemen and visa.
b) In related to Medical teams, of course, we are in urgent need of specialzed physicians in all specialities (except Dentistry). This is becasue of a great lack of good standard of medical care services in Whole Yemen. the official authorities concerned are not able to cover all people's needs. so, we set an open program for volunteered visiting physcians and call on you to help us in supporting it as much as you can. the program will be functional in Sana'a and Dhamar cities. we will mainly provide visiting physicians with housing, food and internal transportation. Those physicians will only afford to pay for their Air tickets to Yemen and visa.
3. we have good cooperation relationships with well-occupied medical establishments in Sana'a the capital, Dhamar, Hodiedah and Taiz. Our health service provisioning program did not commence as we have not enough number of volunteered surgeons , physicians and medical personnel.
4. for voluntary activities, we are in urgent need of large number of surgeons , physicians and medical personnel. Those should provide us with copies of their Resumes , previous work experience , valid passports and recently-coloured photos. We are ,as host, proceeding the official process with the authorities concerned.
5. we will assuredly provide all volunteered teachers of Englsih , surgeon and physicians with housing, food and ground internal transportation. Whereas they will cover their Air tickets , visa and money for personal needs.
6. of course, we are a member of Alliance for NGOs in Sana’a and Dhamar. Mr. Ahmed Al-Masri is the External Relations Officer for this Alliance.Currently, we are planning to call on our counterpart NGOs to work with us in our community service programs such as Al-Wafa, Al-Etqan, Unions of Yemen’s Women and Development and population foundation.
7. the two programs will be operated in Sana’a the capital and Dhamar cities. Both of two cities are located at the cenatl highland regions in Yemen . populations is 4 million. Weather is the same in two cities. It is nice and sutiable for foreigners from Europe and USA. Also, both of two cities have all important living utlities and services. Many foreigner communities live in two cities in peaceful as people are so friendly with them.
8. we expect to help more than 2000 through the program of ESL in Dhamar and a very large number of patients through the medical provining program in Sana’a and Dhamar.
9. we do not charfe any community service presented at all.
10. they are so simple that we call on all volunteered teachers , surgeons and physicians to particiapte in working with us.
• The volunteer should respet Islam and local customs and traditions of Yemeni people.
• The volunteer should not drink/bring alcohol, drugs and adult-oriented materials (pornograghy) to Yemen.
• The volunteer should not be involved in political /religiuos arguments.
• The volunteer should wear suitable decent clothes( especially for female volunteers). It is not allowed to wear flimsy, transparent , short, narrow and hangd garments.

11. USD 600 is enough to cover the monthly personal needs for single person. As always, you only pay as much as it costs you personally to live, depending on your own spending habits.
12. it is iportant to confirm that yemen is a safe place for visitng and working . people here are so friendly with peopel who come to help them. Indeed, I'm confident that all sent teams will perform their tasks in peaceful. As we are your host, we will supply all locations of service and residence with well-trained security guards to ensure the safety of members of sent teams. In related to Security issues, As all countires have suffered terrorism, Yemen has suffered too and we re-confirm that our regions are so secure and stable. we always coordinate with Directorate of Cental Security for any activity performed.
U.S. Citizens Should Inspect all Travel Advisories before embarking on volunteer activities here. Other citizens should check with their Embassy and Foreign Relations Departments.
