About Me: My career goals are to practice medicine in post-conflict states while advising policy through public health research. I believe that conflict-afflicted states deserve international support, but that this support should respect sovereignty. Medicine can address development needs appropriately to this end.
I am currently enrolled in a post-bach pre-med program through Harvard University, and am a research intern in UMass Memorial Medical Center's colorectal surgery department. I hold a bachelors degree in Political Science and am an EMT-Basic.
I also recently completed an internship at the organization Physicians for Human Rights where I researched violations of medical neutrality and the excessive use of tear gas in the Arab Spring.
Health Specialty: EMT Basic Area of Focus: Skills: I am an Emergency Medical Technician (certified in Massachusetts, USA) with a strong research background in international issues surrounding political violence and domestic health policy. I also hold a bachelors in Political Science which gave me experience working with the public through extensive campaign work. Further, I have traveled to various parts of the developing world and am aware of the respect needed for different cultures while traveling.
