Total Number of Volunteers Needed: 15 Find Out More Mission Statement: (See Web Site For Updated Information) The mission of VIM is to guide and promote the development of a national network of free clinics that use retired medical professionals, both retired and practicing, to care for the uninsured. Currently, there are more than 70 affiliated clinics is 23 states. Contact the one nearest you to find out how you can help (or contact the national office to learn about staring a clinic in your community). Continuing education is required for all professionals who volunteer. Time commitments are flexible. Retired physicians, nurses, dentists, social workers, pharmacists and others are all needed. The patient-focused environment at VIM clinics is rarely found in todays fast-paced, cost-conscious primary care practices. Our patients have had little or no access to health care. They need care and show their appreciation to those who volunteer to provide it. At VIm clinics, volunteer professionals provide services on their own terms, in a relaxed, respectful atmosphere. Each volunteers time commitment is up to the volunteer.
