Current Volunteer Opportunities (Unpaid Positions)
Physicians needed for More than 1 year
Opportunity Description: New York State Licensed physicians are responsible for the overall management of the patients. They provide primary care and referrals as needed. Volunteers should be available to RotaCare for telephone consultation occasionally between sessions and willing to work collaboratively with nurse practitioners. Volunteers are asked to commit to two afternoons a month (total of about 8 hours)

In-Take Nurses needed for More than 1 year
Opportunity Description: The intake nurse is a registered or licensed practical nurse who is responsible for the initial medical assessment of the patient's presenting problem. The intake nurse also provides routine patient care as needed in collaboration with the physician and nurse practitioner. Volunteers are asked to commit to two afternoons a month (total of about 8 hours).

RotaCare is a free health center run entirely by volunteers to provide primary care and medication to uninsured and financially qualified individuals. The health center has a rotating team of approximately 100 physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, pharmacists, translators and administrative personnel.

Our mission is to facilitate free health care for the relief of pain and suffering to those who have the greatest need and the least access to health care.
