Mission Statement: (See Web Site For Updated Information)
Our organization, Connect-123, assists students to find challenging internship and service learning projects in a wide range of fields including, medicine, public and community health, healthcare management, Child Life, physiotherapy and speech pathology.

Through our extensive network of local for-profit and not-for-profit organizations, we can tailor experiences for both undergraduate and graduate students according to their career goals.

This year, Connect-123 will work with over 350 students from over 200 universities at our two program locations — Buenos Aires, Argentina and Cape Town, South Africa. Our current university partners include Michigan State University, Arizona State University, the University of Southern California, and Bentley University and we have extensive experience in running both faculty-lead and semester-long programs for US universities.

I’ve attached additional information about our programs and for testimonials and reviews, please see our website at: www.connect-123.com/testimonials and our Facebook page at: http://tinyurl.com/yd3jy7k

We work with several major hospitals and academic institutions in Cape Town. Specific healthcare related internships have involved working on an international epidemiology study on non-communicable diseases, assisting with healthcare education and nutrition workshops, research on neurodevelopment in HIV affected children, the creation of head injury guidelines, theatre efficiency and blood transfusions in burns patients as well as research into how effectively healthcare staff are communicating with the parents of pediatric patients.

We also run a unique Child Life program to provide procedural preparation and psychosocial support for hospitalized children and their families at the Red Cross Children’s hospital.

We also provide pre-trip and on-the-ground mentoring and support, including assistance with housing and transport.
