Mission Statement: (See Web Site For Updated Information)
Common Ground??s Mission
Common Ground??s mission is to bring diverse members of the Westside community together in the fight against AIDS. We provide comprehensive social services and public education programs to Westside residents living with and at-risk for HIV. We ensure that people of diverse cultural backgrounds, those living in poverty, youth, and people who are homeless are able to access our services.
Common Ground offers low cost or no cost mental health services to HIV positive residents of Los Angeles County. The goals of the Mental Health Program are to significantly improve the mental health and well being of Westside residents living with or impacted by HIV/AIDS and high-risk youth, reduce barriers for our target population to access mental health services, and offer a harm reduction based approach to meet our clients where they are in their lives.
Founded in 1992, Common Ground-The Westside HIV Community Center is the only local agency on the West side of Los Angeles devoted to providing a full range of services to people living with HIV and AIDS. Over the past several years, we??ve helped hundreds of people living with HIV/AIDS and reached thousands more with prevention education.
Volunteers: We Couldn??t Do it Without You
At Common Ground, we treasure our volunteers for the valuable role they play in our community. The dedication of volunteer time and talent allows us to conserve more of our resources to fund our programs of care management, mental health, prevention and outreach.
At the agency, volunteers meet and greet our visitors, assist with administrative tasks, and help us plan our public relations and fundraising events. In the community, Common Ground volunteers provide valuable HIV prevention, education, testing and outreach services.
