Mission Statement: (See Web Site For Updated Information)
California Pacific Medical Center is one of the largest private, not-for-profit, academic medical centers in Northern California and is a Sutter Health affiliate. We are a tertiary referral center providing access to leading edge medicine while delivering the best possible personalized care. We provide a wide variety of services, including acute, post-acute and outpatient hospital care; home care and hospice services; preventive and complementary care and health education.

Our volunteers range in age from 14 to 94 years old. Some of these volunteers are serving for the first time, while others have served for 10 years or more. We have one volunteer who has been with us for a record 60 years

We invite you to join our California Pacific volunteer family. All we ask is that...
-You are age 14 or over.
-You are committed to serving a minimum of 100 hours in one year (at least 2 to 3 hours a week).
-You obtain parental consent if you are a student (age 14 to 17).

There are many ways for you to serve patients and their families. We have more than 150 volunteer service descriptions for you to consider. Through these volunteer opportunities ?
-You can serve patients and their families by writing letters for the terminally ill ? soothing anxious families waiting for their loved ones? surgery ? helping Alzheimer?s sufferers choose from their menu ? making beds for emergency room patients ? and much more.
-You can help raise funds for special projects like women and children?s services ? redecorating patient waiting areas ? and the nursing education and recognition fund.
-You can do this by serving in the caf? or gift shops operated by the Guild of California Pacific Medical Center.
-You can help provide more efficient service to patients and their families by organizing files ? pulling files for patients? appointment ? or tackling computer related projects ?
-You can put your special talent to work on projects such as organizing special events for elderly patients ? creating note cards to cheer up patients ? and much more.

When You Are Needed
Volunteers are needed on weekdays, weekends and evenings. However, our greatest time of need is usually weekdays.
