At Home Support is a program developed to ease many of the burdens confronted by those living with advanced chronic illness. Volunteers assist At Home Support by serving patients and their families, providing office support or sharing particular talents and interests. Our organization is in need for individuals who are interested in volunteering for the following areas:
Administrative Volunteer: Provide support or At Home Support using clerical skills.
Clinical Services Volunteer: Provide practical support to patients such as providing for supplemental physical care (hygiene, ambulation, comfort, etc.) with appropriate training provided by At Home Support.
Community Outreach: Assist with educational, informational, marketing and fund raising events.
Specialty Service Volunteer: Provide support for patients by utilizing areas of specialty such as but not limited to; massages, beautician services, photography and pet therapy.
Supportive visit Volunteer: Provide support for patients and their families; Light housekeeping, laundry, errands, companionship, outdoor maintenance, provide relief for patient caregivers, share knitting, sewing, reading, movies, games, or prepare meals.
Transportation Volunteer: Transport patients to health related appointments and activities.
Requirements for All Volunteers
Must be 18 years of age or older
Ability to demonstrate effective interpersonal communication skills
Successful completion of the At Home Support Volunteer Training Program
Must successfully undergo a criminal background check and fingerprinting process
Volunteer with Patient Contact:
Must receive 2-Step Tuberculin testing
At Home Support does not charge a fee for the training program, background check, finger printing, or 2-Step Tuberculin test. |
