Each session is intended to be interactive. The Speaker will need to present the information, engage the session participants, stimulate discussion and encourage responses. The Speaker’s Guide is provided as a roadmap; the Speaker may vary the presentation style to better suit his/her individual presentation preferences, as long as all module subject matter is covered. The Speaker will work closely with the Lead Volunteer and/or ADA Staff. SKILL SET: • Knowledge of the Hispanic/Latino community • Bilingual-English and Spanish • Knowledge of subject matter • Strong presentation skills • Medical/health background, doctors, certified diabetes educators, nurses, nutritionists, registered dietitians, personal trainers or professional dance instructors JOB RESPONSIBILITES: • Work closely with Por Tu Familia Lead Volunteer. • Review discussion guide prior to workshop • Prepare necessary flipchart headings prior to workshop • Present workshop TIME COMMITMENT: • Pre-workshop preparation, 2-3 hours • Workshop presentation - approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour Total Number of Volunteers Needed: 15 Find Out More Mission Statement: (See Web Site For Updated Information) To prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.
