VOlunteer Doctor or Nurse Practitioner needed for More than 1 year
Opportunity Description: Provide clinical exams to individuals ages 12-23 yr. old one Tuesday or Wednesday evening from approx. 6:30-8:30pm, every 4-6 weeks, for about a 1 1/2-2 hr shift with approximately 5-12 clients. We focus primarily on reproductive health care but address some general health concerns as well.Requirements: MN licensed MD or CNP; Carries malpractice insurance plan; Skilled in reproductive health care issues; Enjoys working with young people; supports WSTC mission; willing to committ to at least one year.

VOlunteer Nurse needed for More than 1 year
Opportunity Description: Assist clinic staff with client health history interviews (12-23 year olds), vital signs and rooming for clinical exams.Tues or Wed evenings 6-8pm. Usually 1-2 times per month, depends on the volunteers' request.Requirements:MN licensed LPN or RN; interested in helping teens and young adults learn to make healthy decisions; commits to at least one year.

MISSION: To promote the physical, social and emotional well-being of adolescents and young adults by providing community and individual education, counseling and confidential and affordable medical services to assist them in making responsible decisions.





DESCRIPTION:

A small staff and a large volunteer base enable WSTC to meet its mission goals. We are a non-profit organizaton that was created in 1971 by concerned citizens, community organizations and faith groups who recognized the specific physical and mental health needs of 12-23 year olds that were not being addressed by traditional medical clinics.Our main focus is on reproductive health needs.



VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: Most WSTC medical clinic volunteers come in for one 2 hour shift each month- some come more, some come less, schedules are determined on as needed basis. Most of the volunteer hours available are for the Tuesday and Wednesday evening clinics.
