Patient and Family Care Hospice Volunteer needed for 6 to 12 months
Opportunity Description: Volunteers needed in all 3 Covenant Hospice Offices: Richmond, New Castle and Indianapolis. Volunteers may offer friendly, support, visits to help reduce social isolation. Provide respite visits for the caregivers so that that the caregivers have an opportunity to take a break. Help with small homemaking tasks, lawn care, shopping and errands for the family, read to a patient, or write a letter for a patient. Volunteers may also help by providing support and companionship to the caregivers. Time commitment of 2-4 hours per week. Time to share a cup of coffee; trade stories, wisdom; to simply share the silence that is often part of the day of a seriously ill person; to play cards, to watch a ball game, to play chess; TIME to bring cheer...or...just to be with the patient or family when they cry. Volunteer position does require training and orientation period.

Opportunity Description: Volunteers needed is all 3 Covenant Hospice Offices: Richmond, New Castle, and Indianapolis. Volunteers to help with support for the loved ones left behind by: assisting bereavement coordinator with phone calls, visits to the bereaved, bereavement mailings, comapanionship to the bereaved person. Time commitment of 2 hours per week. Volunteer position does require training and orientation period.

Opportunity Description: Volunteers needed in all 3 Covenant Hospice Offices: Richmond, New Castle, and Indianapolis. Volunteers to help out with administrative duites in a busy, faced paced hospice office. Volunteer duties may include: assisting with mailings, assisitng with data entry of patient records, answering phones, making admission and patient information packets. Volunteer position does require a training/orientation period. Time commitment of 2-4 hours per week.

Hospice Special Project Volunteer needed for More than 1 year
Opportunity Description: Volunteers needed in all 3 Covenant Hospice Offices: Richmond, New Castle and Indianapolis. Special Project volunteers may help out with making lap blankets, afghans, protective bed linens, and walker buddies. Special Project Volunteers may also help with baking and preparing food for Hospice meetings or events, home maintence projects for home bound patients and families, snow removal, maiking birthday cakes for hospice patients, writing and editing newsletters, and helping volunteer coordinator place flyers. Time commitment of 2-4 hours oer week. Volunteer position does require a training/orientation period.
